ACADEMIC PROGRAM

It is highly common for the residents at Pacific Teen Treatment to be very intelligent, but as a component of their emotional challenges and lack of healthy coping mechanisms, to have fallen behind in their schoolwork.

At Pacific Teen Treatment, we feel that education is essential. Making sure our resident’s maintain their educational status, as well as keep up with their schoolwork is highly important. As an integral component to our treatment program we allot three hours, daily, to school education. We work with adolescents from all over the country. Much like we create individualized treatment plans for each of our resident’s, we also create unique education plans for each teen. Most frequently, a teenager entering our program will be currently enrolled in school. We work with each, respective school on behalf of each of our clients to assure the proper educational information is covered, in order to keep each teen up to date with their schoolwork. If a young person is not enrolled in a school, we work with his or her family to come up with a sustainable education plan, which usually includes enrolling the teen in online classes in order to earn school credits. Pacific Teen Treatment believes in educational growth for its residents and works hard to provide ample educational opportunities to each of its teenagers.

ON SITE CLASSROOM

Pacific Teen Treatment has a trained and certified teacher on staff.

Our teacher works with each of our teenager’s parents, schools back home, and teen to coordinate and carryout the proper education plan. It is important that our young people learn to balance their commitment to school and education with all of the other demands of life. Our teacher is trained to work with a number of different age groups, spanning the entirety of adolescence. Each education plan and lesson will be conducted by our teacher and catered to teach the pertinent information to each of our resident’s respective grade-levels and personal needs.

ACADEMIC ASSESSMENT

In order to properly educate our resident’s, each teenager at Pacific Teen Treatment will undergo a one on one educational assessment.

The purpose of this is to help provide insight to our teacher so as to create the best possible education plan for each of our resident’s. While working with the school that the teen is enrolled in, and the information provided form the academic assessment, the teenager will make the most of his school time and be as educationally productive as possible during his or her stay at Pacific Teen Treatment. Every adolescent is different and will learn in a different way. Our teacher uses many different teaching styles and methods so as to allow for the best, individualized learning experience for the teen.

INDIVIDUAL TUTORING

We utilize and bring in tutors to work in specialized subjects that may be a part of a teenagers enrolled school requirements.

Young people that may need extra help in those subjects will also have a tutor available to him or her to fulfill those needs. Our tutors will work individually with each resident, assuring that the proper information is taught. The one-on-one teaching method can be incredibly beneficial for a teenager at Pacific Teen Treatment.

At Pacific Teen Treatment, we want to make sure that when our resident’s leave our program, they are greeted with as easy of a transition as possible. The requirement of daily school attendance will not subside once a teen enters our program, nor will it end upon their completion of our program. By scheduling in three solid hours of school time into our daily schedule, we are teaching our adolescents that their responsibilities remain, even amidst tremendous challenges and especially during extreme growth experiences.
